Mabel Louise Stremich

During her life, Mabel Louise Stremich loved to travel�St. John, St. Thomas, Mexico, Hilton Head, Florida and many other spectacular warm places. She truly loved her time spent UP North at Elk Lake. She and Harry Ackley (companion for 19+ years) traveled as often as they could and enjoyed each other and all the people they met along the way. To our great sadness, on May 25th our lives were halted when Mabel passed away.She was a loving companion to Harry; a devoted mother to Trisha (Bradley); and Mark (JoAnne); an adoring Grandmother to Carley, Sidney, Jessica, Samantha, Stephanie and C.J. - a daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to so many.Mabel was a Plymouth resident and has worked in the masonry business for 25+ years, most of which were spent at West Friendship Materials. She was without question the most loyal hardworking employee. She had a steadfast determination and spread goodwill to all she met. Nobody was ever a stranger - they were thought of as a new acquaintance and friend in her life.She worked throughout her entire illness and never wanted to let anyone down. She had a job that she loved for so many years and wanted to keep her spirits up by keeping her chin held high. Her concern was always for others and was worried how her death and absence from our lives would affect those she was leaving behind. Mabel was a fascinating person to everyone who came into contact with her. It didn't matter what time of day or night her phone rang�she was always there to answer. When something good happened, she was there to celebrate, and if something sad happened, she was there to provide support. She was at peace with her life and did things that most people only dream about. She always said that nobody lives forever and she was right. She will be in our hearts forever and never forgotten by anyone. She was truly the most remarkable woman and there will be a tremendous void in our lives.
