Cynthia L. Rieckhoff

Cynthia L. Rieckhoff, 72, of Brownstown Township, MI passed away July 26, 2024 at her home. Cindy was born March 14, 1952, in Wyandotte to Charles and Rose Rieckhoff, who preceded her in death. A graduate of Trenton High School (class of '69) and Michigan State University, Cindy was a lifelong Downriver area resident who in recent years enjoyed using her considerable research skills as a planning committee member for several of her high school class reunions. Family was the core of Cindy's world and touched every aspect of her life, including her career of over 40 years at C.L. Rieckhoff Co. Inc., where she served as Assistant Controller. She had an artist's soul with a talent for crafts including needlepoint and photography, as well as a deep love of books, movies, and genealogy. Cindy brought her gifts and passions to everything she did, including in her adopted role as family historian. She commemorated gatherings and milestones with her trusty camera and brought color to the family tree with her anecdotes of ancestors. A devoted aunt, she relished bringing movie characters to life for her beloved nieces and nephews, and many family gatherings were punctuated with the sounds of her favorites. She is survived by her siblings: Sue, Jan, Charly (Wendy). John (Denise), Paul (Colleen), Peggy (Bobby) Menker; step-siblings: Debra Penzato, Denise (Mark) Drewno, Kathy (Mike) Baker, Karyn Herman and Steve (Mary) Domenico; step-mother: Loretta Rieckhoff; 42 nieces and nephews and 20 great nieces and great nephews. Visitation Thursday, August 1st from 12 PM until the 1 PM Funeral Service at Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home, 46401 Ann Arbor Road West (between Sheldon and Beck) Plymouth. Interment Michigan Memorial Park, Huron Township.
