Cynthia A. Belonga

78 year old Cynthia Belonga, of Northville, peacefully passed away September 30, 2025, with her husband Michael and daughter Diane by her side. On March 13, 1947, in Pontiac, Michigan, Cynthia was born to Ralph and Roberta (Whims) Marble. She married Michael D. Belonga, on October 4, 1969, at Lakeland Presbyterian Church in Drayton Plains Michigan. Cynthia grew up in Waterford, MI, and attended Waterford-Kettering HS. She then attended the University of Michigan, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. While studying at Michigan, she met the love of her life and future husband, Michael. Following graduation from Michigan, Cynthia and Michael were married, and Cynthia served as a social worker at the Northville State hospital until the birth of her first child, Mark, in 1975. From then on, Cynthia faithfully served her husband and children in the home as a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker. Cynthia was an active member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Plymouth, MI. Cynthia served as a deaconess and wife of an elder, participated in a couples’ Sequoia Bible study with many dear friends, and led the Wednesday-night dinner preparation team for several years. Cynthia served with Trinity Missions to JAARS and to Haiti. Her faithfulness in attending Lord’s Day worship each and every week and her dedication to service in the church left an indelible mark on her children and preserved a legacy of faithfulness for her grandchildren. Cynthia was at her happiest spending time with her family and hosting holiday family gatherings. She was a wonderful host, preparing delicious meals and desserts that the whole family enjoyed. Her apple pie recipe and chocolate chip cookie recipe have been passed down as family treasures. Cynthia was overjoyed when her children started their own families, and treasured each moment with each of her grandchildren. She loved to play games, give meaningful gifts, talk on the phone, and make frequent visits to see them, even making many long-distance trips over the years. Cynthia loved to serve: in the church, her home, and her extended family. Cynthia is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Roberta Marble, and by her brother, Kenneth Marble. Cynthia is survived by her husband Michael; son Mark (Andrea), daughter Diane (Lito) Lozada ; and grandchildren Joshua (Krista), Caleb (Autumn), Rebekah, Jocelyn, and David; and great-grandson Liam, and a loving group of extended family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday, October 2nd, from 4-8 PM at Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home, 46401 Ann Arbor Road West (between Sheldon and Beck), Plymouth. Cynthia will lie in state on Friday October 3rd from 10:30 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service at Trinity Church, 10101 Ann Arbor Road West, Plymouth.
