Corinne Robertson

Corinne Robertson, beloved wife, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on October 8, 2024 at the age of 60. Born on February 20, 1964, in Detroit, Michigan, she was the cherished only child of Theresa and Arnold Meadows. Corinne's birth was a true blessing to her parents, especially to her mother, who had faced numerous challenges in starting a family. Corinne's parents raised her with care, creating many cherished memories that would stay with her throughout her life. Corinne grew up in a household full of love and devotion, with parents who took genuine interest in her hobbies. Her father, an avid hunter and fisherman, instilled in her a love of nature and the outdoors. Every summer for 15 years, the family traveled to Manitoulin Island in Canada, where they enjoyed the simplicity of nature—fishing, telling stories, and bonding without modern distractions. Fishing became one of Corinne’s favorite past times with her parents. Manitoulin became her home away from home, and those summers left a lasting impact on her. Faith was central to Corinne’s life. From an early age, she developed a strong connection to God through the Methodist church in her neighborhood. She took great pride in living as a disciple of Christ, always striving to be a positive influence on others and a source of love, compassion, and generosity. She attributed all of her actions and achievements as blessings from God. She pursued her education with dedication, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Computer Science. It was early during her career in PC support, in 1986, that she met the love of her life, Carl Robertson. Corinne worked her way up to the role of IT Manager at Unilever, where she served from 1991 until 2002. Her success was a testament to her hardworking and dedicated nature, always striving for excellence in everything she did. The two began dating shortly after and, three years later, were married on April 15, 1989, in the Methodist church where Corinne’s faith journey began. Their marriage was a true partnership, blessed with deep love and mutual respect. Carl’s generous heart and selflessness complemented Corinne’s gentle and giving spirit. Together, they supported each other and those around them, always finding joy in acts of kindness. Corinne was endlessly grateful for the love they shared, describing their union as a match made in heaven, and that every day with Carl was a blessing. Corinne often expressed these parting thoughts: “Be thankful for everything that you have in life and for every day that God blesses you with. Treat others like they are family. Be willing to forgive and to be forgiven. Always be willing to extend a hug and a warm smile to people. Smiles are contagious. Enjoy the life that you have been blessed with! May God continue to be with all of you until we meet again in His Heavenly Kingdom.” Corinne is survived by her loving husband, Carl Robertson, her sister Sue (Kent) Lawrence, and numerous friends and extended family members who were blessed to know her. Visitation will take place on Friday, October 11th from 11 AM until the 1 PM Funeral Service at Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home, 46401 Ann Arbor Road West (Between Sheldon and Beck) Plymouth. Interment will follow at Parkview Memorial Cemetery.
