Barbara Lucille Dickow

Barbara Lucille Dickow was born in Berkeley, California on June 20, 1925 to Christopher and Lucille Berggreen. She died on December 10, 2021 in Auburn Hills, Michigan. She was 96 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents, her older brother Harold, her husband John G. Dickow, and her daughter Donna L. Graham. She is survived by her daughter Linda (Doug) Thompson and son-in-law Doug (Jan) Graham. She was grandmother to Rachel Mitchell, Mike Mitchell, Daniel (Kiana) Graham, Ryan (Jenna) Taylor, Paul (Betsy) Thompson, Laura (Brendon) Wong, Matthew (Melissa) Graham, Marc Thompson, Monique (Jordan) Guelde. She was great grandmother to Riley, Caden, Belle, Lucas, Evie, Kalia, Haley, Sam, Owen, Francis, Will, Jackson, Mason, Weston, and Elliana. Barbara lived in Berkeley, Penngrove, Petaluma, and San Francisco, California and then for the past 10 years in Oxford and Auburn Hills, Michigan. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education at San Francisco Teachers College and a Master’s of Arts in Special Needs Education from San Francisco State College. She loved to read, played the piano, visited or host her children and grandchildren, traveled to France to visit her daughter and family. She went to Hawaii with her granddaughter, Rachel. She liked to talk with family, friends and neighbors in the sunset district of San Francisco. She loved looking at the ocean. She was an active member of the Westlake Community Baptist Church of Daly City where she taught Bible classes to children. Barbara was a loving, kind and thoughtful person who was always available to listen and to share. She is greatly missed by her family already. Visitation Sunday, December 19th 2 PM until the 6 PM Funeral Service at Vemeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home, 46401 Ann Arbor Road West (between Sheldon and Beck), Plymouth. Interment Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, CA.
