Virginia "Ginny" Lynn Evans

Virginia “Ginny” Evans (Cuthbertson), age 68, sadly lost her battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), taking her last earthly breath on Monday, September 29, 2025, with her daughter, Leah, holding her hand. Ginny had been surrounded by family and friends the days leading up to her passing. Her Husband, Daughter, Son-in-law and Grandson, all surrounded her with love her last day with us. Born on January 29, 1957, in Pontiac, Michigan, Ginny was the beloved daughter of Virginia and the late John Cuthbertson. She grew up in Clarkston, MI surrounded by family, love and laughter which shaped her into the woman she became. Ginny was a devoted wife to her husband, John. They had a love story that started as 2 teenagers, a marriage proposal on the basement stairs, a beautiful outdoor wedding, a daughter, a grandson, many dogs and numerous years of memories made. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on August 2, 2025. They lived in Reford Twp. together for over 45 years. They loved their vacations to the Upper Peninsula, Saint Maarten and camping in Leota with their family and friends. Ginny was the most amazing Mom to her daughter Leah and her husband Chris. Ginny and Leah had a close relationship with vacations together, countless phone calls, Friday night dinners and scary movies, shopping trips and many, many special memories! One of Ginny’s greatest joys was being a grandmother to Llewyn. Llewyn held a special place in his Mimi’s heart. They had an amazing bond that involved many laughs, sweet moments, games, shopping trips, lunch dates, swimming and much more. She is truly and completely loved by Llewyn. Ginny was an amazing baker; pies were her specialty. She was an artist with a crochet hook, putting her heart and soul into each blanket she gifted, which are cherished by many. She had the most beautiful flower garden, adding new flowers every year. She loved her career as a dental hygienist and made many friends there. She was the MOST selfless and caring person. Upon hearing of her PSP diagnosis, her first concern was whether Leah and Llewyn would have a predisposition for the disease (which research doesn’t suggest). She always had a place in her heart for her pups and was a hobby breeder of springer spaniels earlier in her life. We know she was greeted in Heaven by all her fur babies. Ginny is lovingly remembered by her Husband John Evans, Daughter Leah Ventura, Son-in-law Chris Ventura, Grandson Llewyn Ventura (10), Mother Virginia Cuthbertson, Brothers Jack Cuthbertson (Sharron) and Terry Cuthbertson (Timmi) and her sister Kris DeClerck (Dave), her Sister-in-Law Twila Winiger. Ginny is loved by many Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Friends and Colleagues. Ginny is preceded in death by her Father John Cuthbertson, Grandparents Irene and Del Cuthbertson and Rebecca and “Gill” Nicholson, Mother-in-law Twila Evans, Brother-in-laws Tom Evans and Jim Winiger and other family and friends. Ginny always had a great love for life, her family and her friends. She will be missed tremendously by all.
