Rosemary Abraham

Rosemary Abraham, age 74, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully at home on January 25, 2026. Born in Detroit on March 3, 1951, Rosemary was the cherished daughter of the late William and June Abraham. She was a proud graduate of St. Eugene Elementary School, Mercy High School (Class of 1969), and the University of Detroit (Class of 1973). On January 16, 1982, Rosemary married the love of her life, Frank Messana, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Together, they shared 44 devoted years of marriage, raising a family grounded in faith, love, and compassion. Throughout her professional life, Rosemary was committed to serving others. She worked in various roles, including at the Sarah Fisher Home for children in foster care, the State of Michigan’s testing department, and in Human Resources at AAA. She retired on July 1, 2020. Rosemary was a dedicated parishioner at St. Kenneth Catholic Church in Plymouth. Her faith was central to her life, guiding her in her roles as a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Rosemary found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved caring for her children and grandchildren, bird watching, gardening, and spending time at the beach—especially alongside those she loved most. She is survived by her spouse, Frank Messana; her children, Sean (Carissa) Abraham and Megan (Jesse) Page; and her adored grandchildren: June, Louise, and Judah Page, and Kara and Alice Abraham. Rosemary was the dear sister of Judy Abraham, Bill Abraham, Tom Abraham, and Michelle Mahoney, and leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Family and friends may visit on Thursday, January 29, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home, 46401 Ann Arbor Road West, Plymouth (between Sheldon and Beck). Rosemary will lie in state on Friday, January 30, from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Kenneth Catholic Church, 14951 North Haggerty Road, Plymouth.
