Lindy Paul Henson

Henson, Lindy Paul, April 29, 2025, age 76, of Westland, Michigan. Lindy entered eternal life on Tuesday, April 29th surrounded by his loving family. Lindy was born October 4, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan. He was a loving son to Frank and Violet Targett and Glenn and Ilene Jeffery after he married the love of his life, Carol Ann Jeffery on January 13, 1968. Lindy was a hardworking and loving father to their son, Scott, and daughter-in-law, Christine, as well as a most playful and loving grandfather to his two grandchildren, Olivia and Alexander. Later in life he was reunited with his sisters, Linda (Stan) Hicks and Mona (Dan) Sallee, and they enjoyed many special memories and sweet moments with their families. He was a loving uncle to Aron (Amber) Malone and Grace Sallee, as well as his great-nephew, Myles Malone. Lindy spent almost 40 years in the automotive industry, beginning as an automotive mechanic. His career included managing prototype builds at Carron and Company and later Roush Industries. Lindy was an extremely hard worker and worked long hours, but the love of family remained at the center of everything he did. Lindy loved cars, loved working on his house and yard, and was well known for his organizational skills, forever embracing the Franklin Covey methodology. His sense of humor and laughter was a beautiful gift that set even a stranger at ease within seconds. Lindy was surely a blessed man, but his depth of character was clearly seen in how he worked out life's challenges, facing a challenge straight on, never complaining, and freely extending grace. His compassionate heart often moved him to action whether he decided to meet a need through gift or by extending a helping hand. Staying connected to those he cared about, especially through phone calls remained a top priority. He truly cared how people were doing. On a less serious note, but every bit as important, there was probably nothing that brought Lindy more joy than the "great banter," rooted in good humor and love. Watching him and Carol "go at it," as well as both his grandchildren, was truly a sight to see. He taught Olivia and Alexander how to give him a "run for his money," and it was those moments that brought us all the most laughter over the years. Lindy will be forever missed and we look ahead into eternity when we will be with him once again. Per Lindy's request, a celebration of life will be held at a date in the near future.
