Kimberly "Kim" Ann Brophy

Kimberly “Kim, Kimmie” Brophy (née Jones) , age 67, passed away peacefully on December 29,2025 in Plymouth Twp, Mi after a courageous fight with cancer. Born October 26,1958 in Grosse Pointe, Mi, to Dorothy and Edward Jones, Kim bought warmth and joy to every life she touched. A proud graduate of Harper Woods High School class of 1976, Kim was raised in the Catholic faith and carried those values of compassion and kindness throughout her life. She had a natural gift for connecting with people – her radiant smile and open heart made everyone feel welcome. Whether meeting someone for the first time or spending cherished moments with loved ones, Kim’s presence was a source of comfort and happiness. Kim shared a deep and enduring love with her husband Kevin. Their bond was instant and undeniable. They knew within 2 weeks of dating that they were meant to be together. Their marriage was a testament to true partnership and unwavering devotion. Family was the center of Kim’s world. She is survived by her loving husband Kevin; her sister Cindy Krzezewski (Jim-deceased); brother-in-law Greg Thueme (Lynne – deceased); sister-in-law Carrie (Jim – deceased); and her beloved nieces and nephews: Tracy Trancredi (Pete), Melissa Thueme, Mike Thueme, Jimmie Jones, Jayme Jones, and Jessica Jones. Her family gatherings were filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories – moments she treasured deeply. Kim had a zest for life that shone through in everything she did. She loved road trips, especially those that led to Maine where she could indulge in fresh lobster or a perfect lobster roll at one of her favorite seaside restaurants. Northern Lower Michigan also held a special place in her heart. Whether exploring nature or simply enjoying the journey with Kevin by her side, travel bought her immense joy. Her hobbies reflected her appreciation for the beauty and connection: counted cross stitch allowed her to create intricate works of art; sharing good food with new friends brought delight; and being surrounded by nature gave her peace. Kim was also an active member of the Central Macomb Optimist Club where she contributed to the community efforts with the same generosity that defined every aspect of her life. Kim’s legacy is one of love – pure, simple, and abundant. She will be remembered for the way she made others feel seen and valued. Her kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew her. May Kimberly’s memory bring comfort to those who mourn her passing and inspiration to all who strive to live with such grace and warmth. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 2,2026 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm, with a service to follow at Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home, 46401 Ann Arbor Road West (between Sheldon and Beck), Plymouth.
