Julie Lynn Schreck

Julie Lynn Schreck of Canton, Michigan passed away peacefully at home on November 21, 2024. She was the beloved wife of John Schreck and the loving mother of Alexander Schreck. She was the dear sister of Matthew (Kathy) Gausden and the proud aunt of Graham and Eian Gausden. She was a loving cousin to many, including Christine Gausden. Elizabeth Dietrich, a dear friend, has served as a second mother to Julie for many years. She routinely surrounded herself with lifelong friends including Carole, Cherie, Monica, and Louise. Julie was born on October 31st, 1962 to Arthur (Larry) and Joan Gausden in Detroit, Michigan. Julie’s early life was characterized by sleepovers and pool days with her friends who lived on Fairway Street in Livonia. She went on to be part of the “Burger Chef Gang” of Bentley High School where they would meet up and gossip, hang out, and occasionally get into trouble. Julie continued to enjoy making new memories with her friends up until her passing. Julie went on to attend Schoolcraft College and ultimately entered the retail business where she opened her own Men's Formal Wear store called The Plymouth Tux Shop on Starkweather in Old Town Plymouth. Julie married the love of her life, John, on October 28th, 1995 and together they had their most treasured blessing of all, Alexander. The trio spent countless weekends at their treasured Higgins Lake. Julie became a stay-at-home mom, a job where she cooked the most amazing meals, always volunteered to help others, and assisted her son with countless math assignments, book reports, and art projects. In her free time, she loved trying her luck on the Wheel of Fortune Slot Machines. Anytime she was home, she could be found enjoying a Super White Lightning from Biggby Coffee or an ice-cold glass of Mtn Dew. Julie was known for her fierce love of her family and most of all her immense pride in her son. A common point of humor was that everyone knew the second Alexander accomplished something, her tears would start flowing. Despite her health concerns, Julie always pushed to make herself better. She never gave up, and now we are all thankful she is at peace.
