Judy Ann Kaye

Judy Ann Kaye passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025, at the age of 80. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Judy lived a full and vibrant life marked by her love for family, her passion for education, and her dedication to her community. She was the beloved mother of Eric (Erika) Kaye and Heidi Roberts, and a proud grandmother to Madelyn and Lydia Roberts. Judy is also survived by her dear sister, Emma Reardon, and her loving nephews, Mark and Scott Wooledge. She was predeceased by her parents, Evelyn and Philip Reardon. Born on February 27, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, Judy was raised in Dearborn, where she discovered her love for ice skating and singing in the choir. She graduated from Dearborn High School in 1962 and pursued higher education at Wayne State University, earning a degree in home economics education. Judy furthered her studies at Eastern Michigan University, where she obtained a master’s degree in special education. Judy dedicated her professional life to teaching, serving as a special education teacher at Seaholm High School. Her passion for helping others extended beyond the classroom and into her community. A longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Plymouth, Judy also participated in the Canton Garden Club and was active in the American Association of University Women. She was a proud supporter of the Race for the Cure Detroit, often leading one of the largest community groups in the event. An avid gardener, runner, and traveler, Judy also enjoyed antiquing and cherished time spent with loved ones. Her enthusiasm for life and ability to find joy in simple pleasures will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A Memorial Service to celebrate Judy’s life will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church of Plymouth, located at 701 Church Street, Plymouth, Michigan. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by the service at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute, 4100 John R Street, Detroit, MI 48201, or the Humane Society of Huron Valley, PO Box 7026, Liberty Station, Ann Arbor, MI 48107.
