Helen Frances Lacki

Helen F. Lacki (nee Gill) age 93 (though she liked to say she was over 100), passed peacefully on May 24, 2021 at 5:30 AM at Milford Regional Hospital, Milford MA on the Palliative Care floor. Though she resided in Northbridge, MA at the time of her passing she was a long time resident of Canton, MI where she was a parishioner for over 40 years at St. John Neumann church. Beloved and absolutely devoted wife of the late Casimir A. Lacki (Cass) for what would have been 71 years this month. Dear, dear mother of Linda Lacki (John/Jack Freeman), Gregory Lacki (Margaret), Cathy Lacki, the late Brian Lacki and the late Chris Lacki. Proud and loving grandmother of Matthew Lacki (Dr. Cori Russell), Caitlin McGinn (Kenneth/Ken) and Paul Lacki. Thrilled great-grandmother of Wesley Alan Wilder. Helen is also survived by many loved nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her parents Adam and Frances Gill and her beloved sisters Stephania Daksiewicz, Jean Clincher their spouses and Emil Gill, all of Michigan. She is the last of her generation of two sides of the family. In Helen’s final years she relied on a small group of care providers, outside of the ministrations of her family, who helped her to enjoy her life to the fullest: Kathy Clincher, Pam Zinn and Jennifer Horrigan. Helen always had deep gratitude for their presence in her life. Helen participated daily in this prayer community for many years. It brought her deep kinship with other loving and like-minded people. In her final years at her home in Canton, Helen was brought communion and visited by a devoted group of people that included Mary Kay and Marcel Loosbrock, Claudia Morris and Elizabeth Thomas. They allowed her to continue to worship. The Memorial Mass and a Celebration will take place at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 44800 Warren Road, Canton, MI 48187 on September 17, 2021 (her birthday). A Rosary Service will be held at church beginning at 11 AM, followed by a gathering period at 11:30 AM until the Funeral Liturgy at 12 PM. Inurnment of her cremated remains and committal prayer will take place on Monday, September 20, 2021, at 11 AM at St. Hedwig Cemetery, 23755 Military Road, Dearborn Heights, MI 48127 (weather permitting, prayers will take place at graveside).
