Frances E. Venske

Frances Elaine Venske (nee Martens), passed away December 7, 2016. Born in Muskegon, Michigan on June 12, 1926 to parents Frank and Alice Martens. Brothers Harold and Donald are also deceased. After graduating Cum Laude from Muskegon Senior High School, she furthered her education at the Muskegon School of business. Her career began as an elementary principal’s secretary in Muskegon. She became an Executive Secretary at the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools Board of Education in 1970 from which she retired in 1989. She was a member of the Michigan Association of Educational Secretaries. Married in 1947 to Louis A. Venske, her husband of 57 years, who preceded her in death in 2004. Upon retirement they moved to Canadian Lakes Retirement Community in northern Michigan for 16 years until his death and she returned to Plymouth. They traveled extensively in their motor home and were active charter members of the Northern Lights Motor Home Club. Frances became an associate member upon Louis’ death. Survivors are Son Mark (Candace) Venske, Texas, Daughters Janet (Frank) Forgacs, Marshall, Kay Piper, Plymouth, Susan and Lisa Venske, Canton, and Marcia Schultz was predeceased in 2005. Also surviving are Seven Grandchildren, Matthew (Sue) Schultz, Detour Village, Mark, Nathan and Kirsten Venske, Plymouth, Carrie Snyder, Ohio, Christopher Forgacs, Marshall, Melissa and Scott Piper, Plymouth and Taylor Venske, Canton. Three Great-Grandchildren, Rebecca and Jason Forgacs and Riley Schultz. Sister-in-law Donna Martens. Nieces and nephews Merri, Leslie and Donnel. The memorial service will be Monday, December 12th at 11 AM at St John's Episcopal Church, 574 S. Sheldon Road, Plymouth, MI 48170. The family will greet friends at church on Monday beginning at 10 AM until the service. Inurnment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Plymouth. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
