Flora T. Kremin

Flora Esther (Thompson) Kremin was born April 23, 1924 in Youngstown Ohio and passed on November 17, 2018 at the age of 94. She is survived by her children: Michele (Kremin) Kennedy and husband Scott, Lee Kremin and wife Marjolijn van der Velde, Pamela (Kremin) Bolger and husband Jeff, and Dean Kremin. She also is survived by her greatest joy, grandchildren: Michael (wife, Erin), Sara, Bryan (wife Kristen), Marijke, Lena, and great grandchildren Susie and Robin. She most certainly has been greeted on the other side by a throng of loved ones who passed before her: husband Michael, all of her sisters, all of her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, her grandson Mark, and other friends and family dear to her heart. Following the loss of her husband in 1969, she raised her four children on her own, encouraging all of them to receive college degrees. She worked full time as a Deputy Court Clerk in the City of Riverview from 1969 until her retirement in 1989. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi since 1943 where she held all offices, chaired many committees, and was named Woman of the Year many times over. She was very active in the Riverview Methodist Church and was well known for her charitable contributions to church activities. Many are lucky enough to have received one of her numerous and talented creations from her years of sewing, quilting, crocheting, embroidery, smocking, and needlepoint, or one of her many delicious baked cookies, cakes, pies, and if you were very lucky, her pieroghies. She loved babies - all babies - and enjoyed reading, occasional travel, theater, sporting events, restaurant outings, playing cards and games, crossword puzzles, Sudoku, jigsaw puzzles, music, and chorus performances - especially the family rendition of The Twelve Days of Christmas. Flora will be most remembered for her love of family and extended family, her deep friendships, her generous heart, and her remarkable strength on a long and challenging road of life. We rejoice that she is reunited with all those souls she has loved and missed for so long, and we will keep her close in our hearts and in our memories, until we meet again.
