Carroll Franklin Moore

Carroll F. Moore, age 91 , of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025, surrounded by family. A loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, proud Marine, and loyal friend, Carroll lived a full and generous life defined by resilience, humor, and heart. Born on September 22, 1933, Carroll was the son of Alfred Perry Moore and Artie Manley Moore. He was lovingly raised by his grandparents, Harriett and Samuel Moore, in Mars Hill, North Carolina. He shared his early years on the family farm alongside his brother Gary, aunts, and uncles—a childhood that helped shape his strong work ethic and enduring character. At just 17, Carroll enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in Detroit, Michigan, proudly serving his country from January 17, 1952, to January 16, 1955. His military service instilled in him a deep sense of duty and discipline, values he carried with him throughout his life. Carroll married the love of his life, Frances (née Fairlamb), on September 26, 1959. Together they built a life rooted in faith, laughter, and love. A longtime Baptist, Carroll also found peace and joy in simple pleasures like fishing and golfing. Professionally, Carroll worked as a construction supervisor until his retirement in 2003. Known for his leadership, he also served as a Union Steward for many years, always advocating for his fellow workers with fairness and integrity. He was a proud father to Sham (Jeff) Escker and Sherri (Bill) Parson, and a cherished grandfather to Aaron, Danielle, Ashley, Shelby, and Randy. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Abby, Maddy, JJ, Levi, Bo, Noel, Max, Alex, Andi, Mave, and Ronan. Carroll is also survived by his sister, Sue Psik. Carroll lived by the philosophy: "What will be will be—and you always have to have a little humor in life, " He brought that spirit into every room, making even hard moments a bit lighter for those around him. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27, from 1—9 p.m. at Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home, 46401 Ann Arbor Road West (between Sheldon and Beck), Plymouth. A Funeral Service will take place Saturday, June 28, at I0 a.m., also at the funeral home, Memorial contributions in Carroll 's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, Post Office Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73123-1718.
