Carolyn A. Roberts

Carolyn Roberts (Cetnarowski), beloved mother, sister, aunt, and devoted animal rescuer, passed away suddenly at home at the young age of 59. Born in Illinois and raised in Detroit, she was the daughter of Thomas Roberts (later married to the late Sandra) and Christine Rankin. She is survived by her children, Theresa (Damon) and William (Julie); her brothers Tom (Rachelle) and Dave (Sue); her sister Amanda (Mark); and her many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews, all of whom she adored and was incredibly proud of. She was preceded in death by her brother Jimmy (2003). Family was the heart of Carolyn’s world. She loved nothing more than being surrounded by her loved ones, whether it was riling everyone up during game night, floating on the lake with a cold margarita in hand, or simply sitting nearby to soak it all in. Her happiest moments were always the ones spent together. A fierce animal advocate, she dedicated the last decade of her life to rescue work, feeding and caring for strays, fostering, and ensuring every animal she met knew love. Her loyal dog Daisy Mae and her kitties were her constant companions, and her home was always filled with love and the chaos of paws and purrs, just the way she wanted it. Quirky, strong-willed, and deeply faithful, she lived by her convictions and found humor in life’s messiest moments. She believed in kindness, second chances, and that every creature, human or animal, deserved to be seen and loved. Carolyn is now reunited with her dad, brother Jimmy, sister-in-law Sadie, and the pets she loved so dearly: Sassy, Benny, Penny, Purrty, and Purrscilla. There’s no doubt she’s sipping Tequila Rose and dancing to Family Tradition. Her family takes comfort knowing she’s at peace, surrounded by love and the family members she missed so much. Carolyn’s life was filled with love, laughter, and the occasional inappropriate comment, all rooted in a heart that gave endlessly to bring joy to others. She will be missed beyond measure and remembered always — in butterflies, in dimes, and in every small sign of love she left behind.
