Brenda Faye Norman

In Loving Memory: Brenda Norman, September 18, 1941-August 13, 2025 It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Brenda Faye Adcox Norman. As we gather in memory, we find comfort in the extraordinary journey she shared with us. Brenda was the youngest and last surviving of the six children of Raleigh Raymond Adcox and Geneva King Adcox. She grew up in Northville, MI. Brenda is survived by her children, Kelly Norman (1962), Kathleen Scanlan (Daniel) (1964), Kimberly Stripling (Michael) (1967) and John Michael Norman (1974); grandchildren Quinn Norman, Hollie Taylor (Jonathan), Amber Howerton, Jerica Acord, John Xavier Norman-Sokoll, and Isaac Norman-Sokoll; and six great-grandchildren. She began working at St. Mary’s Hospital nursery as a young adult, an occupation she loved, where she met her husband, the late John Marvin Norman. They were married 38 years until his death from cancer. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters Athala, Betty, and Shirley, and brothers James Paul and Robert. Brenda loved horses, dogs, travelling, Elvis, babies, beaches, and Little Debbie Snacks. She loved to tell the little ones, “I love you to the moon and back,” which they repeated often and lovingly to her. Her faith in Jesus was an important part of her life, and she knew that she would be reunited with those who’d passed earlier after her death. Although Brenda is out of our sight, we still will feel her presence in memories of talks at the kitchen table with her, watching her interactions with her children and grandchildren, and sounds of her laughter. We say a hearty farewell to her, but not goodbye. And if you are reading this, know she loved you “to the moon and back.” Visitation Tuesday August 19, 2025 4 PM until the 7PM Funeral Service at Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home, 46401 Ann Arbor Rd. W, (btwn Sheldon & Beck) Plymouth. She gave frequently to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and the Humane Society. Brenda and John fostered multiple infants from the Methodist Children’s Home in Detroit. As a memorial, please consider giving to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Huron Valley Humane Society in Ann Arbor.
