Beverly Lorraine Mehl

June 10, 2025 – Beverly Lorraine (Wurst) Mehl (96) passed away peacefully in the presence of family. She was born to Fred and Mabel Wurst and raised by Charles and Irma Long. Beverly is predeceased by her loving husband Jack, son Bruce, step-daughter Patricia (Mehl) Chase (Donald), brother Harold Long, sisters Virginia (Wurst) Aben, Betty (Wurst) Metzger, Evelyn Long, Elaine (Long) Hay, and grandson Douglas Brewer. She is survived by sons John (Diane) and Richard (Jessie), daughter Sandra (Mehl) Berry (partner Richard), grandchildren Teresa (Brewer) McAllister, David Brewer, Jennifer Mehl, Geoffrey Mehl, Michael Mehl (Trisha), Jason Berry (Angela), Kristen Mehl, Kathryn (Berry) Downer (Zachary), David Mehl, and great grandchildren Shayla McAllister, Rachel Mehl, Liam Mehl, Jack Mehl and Nora Downer. Beverly also was cherished Aunt Bev to many nieces and nephews. Beverly was born in Detroit, MI on July 8, 1928 and was raised in Dearborn, MI. She graduated from Dearborn High School in 1946, and married Jack in 1954. They settled in Dearborn to raise their family. Their retirement years together were spent in Florida until Jack’s passing in 1998. Beverly moved back to Michigan to be close to her family and lived independently until age 93. The last years of her life were spent residing with son John (Diane) and later with daughter Sandy (partner Richard) until she was called home to be with her heavenly family. A passionate University of Michigan football fan, Beverly rarely missed a game whether on radio or TV. She was an avid reader and loved movies of all kinds. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, cross stitching, and other crafts. Together with husband Jack, Bev helped restore (and lived aboard) an antique boat named B-JAC II. Though she never played golf, she enjoyed watching golf on TV. Beverly (with Jack) loved to travel throughout the United States and Canada. But mostly, she loved raising her five children and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Memorial Service Saturday, July 19th 10 AM at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 2040 S. Commerce Road, Walled Lake, MI 48390. Interment of Beverly's cremains following the service to buried at Glen Eden Memorial Park, Livonia.
