Bernard J. Buller

Bernard J. Buller, age 72, of Plymouth, MI and Lakeland, FL, passed away at 9:31 PM Thursday, July 29th at University of Michigan Hospital with family by his side. Bernie was the son of Russell and Delores Buller, born March 13, 1949, in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated from St. Michael’s High School in Pontiac, MI in 1967, and went on to receive his degree in Education from Western Michigan University. On August 18, 2001 Bernie married Sheila (Lewanda) Buller at St John’s Lutheran Church in Farmington Hills. Bernie taught drafting and wood shop for 10 years at Crary Junior High School in Waterford, MI before moving to East Middle School in Farmington Hills where he taught Life Skills for Special Needs Students. In addition to teaching, he was a Hockey Coach and Special Olympics Coach. He had a passion for teaching others and helping them find their full potential. He will be remembered by all for his peaceful, loving heart as well as his sense of humor and shenanigans. Bernie loved God first and family second. Nothing made him happier than talking about Jesus and serving others. He had a true servant’s heart. He loved traveling with his wife and planning family gatherings with all the kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Having everyone together was always his biggest highlight. Bernie is survived by his wife Sheila, children Stace (Wendi) Overley, Sheri Croteau, Kortne (Jeb) Stolicker, Robyn (Brian) Jackson, Aaron Peacock, Dana Peacock; siblings Mike (Carol) Buller, twin sister Barb Buller, Mary (Mike) Tiernan, six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bernie was preceded in death by his father Russell Buller and mother Delores Buller.
