Barbara A. Coloske

Barbara A. Coloske, of Canton, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2024, at the age of 90 years. Barbara was the cherished wife of the late Jerome J. Coloske, and a guiding light to her children, Karen A. Coloske, Robert J. Coloske (Tina), Thomas J. (the late Judy) Coloske, Mary Ann Wray (Edward), and the late Christine M. Coloske. She was a loving and proud grandmother to Michael Anderson (Kelly), Robert Anderson, the late Jeanette Williams, Matthew Wray, Natalie Wray, and Peter Wray; and a doting great-grandmother to Liviann, Liam, and Quinn Anderson. She is predeceased by her brothers Andrew and James Sroka. Barbara’s unwavering faith and Catholicism was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and comforting her in times of need. Her radiant joy and infectious laughter brought light to those around her, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing her, including her many friends and the dedicated caregivers at Waltonwood Carriage Park, as well as her beloved dog, Macy. Barbara was a long-standing member of St. Linus Parish in Dearborn Heights. She actively participated in the Christian Women groups, the annual church festival, Vegas nights and the Lenten fish fries. Her love for playing bingo, cards, and Wii bowling, coupled with her jovial nature and penchant for telling jokes, made her a friend to everyone. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8th from 4-8 PM at Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home 46401 Ann Arbor Road West (between Sheldon and Beck), Plymouth, with a Rosary service at 7 PM. Barbara will be in state on Thursday, May 9th at 10 AM until the 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Linus Catholic Church, 6466 North Evangeline Street, Dearborn Heights. She will be laid to rest at St. Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn Heights. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Linus Catholic Church, 6466 North Evangeline Street, Dearborn Heights, Michigan, 48127, St. Stephen Catholic Church, 18858 Huron River Drive, New Boston, Michigan 48164 or Humane Society of Huron Valley, Post Office Box 7026, Liberty Station, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48107-7026. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Barbara’s warm presence will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
