Teresa Natalie Abick

Abick, Teresa Natalie April 1, 2022, age 93 of Northville. Beloved wife of the late Edward Tabin and John “Bo” Abick. Loving mother of Tom (The late Marianne) Tabin and the late Mark Tabin. Dearest grandmother of Jeanine (Clint) Hodge, Matthew Tabin, Timothy (Teresa) Tabin, Jonathan Tabin and T.J. (Nicole) Tabin. Also leaves 10 great-great grandchildren, 2 great-great-great grandchildren, nieces Elaine (Kenneth) Kurc, Anita Tabin, Patricia Sikora, Natalie (John) LaCroix and several great nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her brothers Zygmunt (Irene) Sikora, Joseph (Mamie) Sikora and Henry (Clara) Sikora. Teresa started her political career as the administrative assistant to the late Congressman John D. Dingell. She worked for several State Legislators namely the late George Hart and Representative Ray Murphy. Teresa was President of Council 54 of the Polish National Alliance from 1984-1991. Under her direction Council 54 instituted a Scholarship Program designed to provide aid to P.N.A. high school seniors as they began their college careers. She was elected to the position of First Vice President of the Polish National Alliance in 1991 and served until her retirement in 2014. She oversaw the Polish language classes, National scholarship program, ethnic dance groups, senior citizens programs and celebrations of Polish heritage and history. Teresa was a true asset to our proud and vibrant Polish community. Teresa was very active as a member of the Polish American Congress, Michigan Division and served as regent and Ambassador of the Orchard Lake schools. Teresa traveled extensively to Poland and Rome. The highlight of her travel was meeting the late Saint John Paul II. She leaves behind many cherished family and friends who will greatly miss her. The greatest waste of time is the difference between what you are and what you become. Teresa wasted no time in her 93 years. Visitation Thursday, April 7th 1-8 PM and Friday, April 8th 1-8 PM at Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home, 46401 Ann Arbor Road, West (between Sheldon and Beck) Plymouth. In state at church Saturday, April 9th 11 AM until Mass at 11:30 AM at St. Colette Parish, 17600 Newburgh Road, Livonia. Interment at St. Hedwig Cemetery. Memorial can be made to P.N.A.
