Marjorie Mann Boyer

Marjorie Mann Boyer, 88, went home to be with the Lord on July 15, 2006 in Redford after a time of declining health. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a faithful servant of God. Marjorie was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She graduated from Cooley High School. Marjorie attended and graduated from Wheaton College in 1942 with top honors. It was at Wheaton College that she met, fell in love and married Cleo Mann. Together Marjorie and Cleo served the Lord faithfully as missionaries in Africa for over 10 years, and Marjorie served 4 more years after Cleo passed away in Africa. Marjorie and her children returned to the states in 1961. They settled in Detroit where she met Frederick Boyer and after a long courtship they were married. Marjorie was an active member of Ward Memorial Church in Detroit where she served as a secretary. In later years she was an active member of Covenant Community Church in Redford. Marjorie will be remembered for her love for the Lord, her faithful service to Him, and the godly legacy she left her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Even after her memory was fading, Marjorie had so many Bible versed etched in her heart and mind that she could recite passages of Scripture. The family rejoices that she is now enjoying an intimate fellowship of God's presence. Beloved mother of Brian Mann (JoAnn) of Colorado; Bruce Mann (Lisa Marie) of Colorado; Marilyn Mann Roughley (John) of Michigan; and Ann Boyer LePere (John) of North Carolina. Grandmother of Rebecca Roughley; Kimberly Roughley; Justin Mann (Elizabeth); Jonathan Mann; David LePere (Janine); Nathan LePere; and Cheylan Beaver. Great-grandmother of Joshua Roughley; Alyssa Mann; Riley LePere; Cole LePere and Dylan LePere. Marjorie was preceeded in death by husbands Cleo Mann and Frederick Boyer; parents Herbert and Adelaide Jenney; sister Rachel Jenney and brother Richard Jenney. A Memorial Service will be held 10:30 AM July 29 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 10101 West Ann Arbor Road, Plymouth MI. In lieu of flowers a contribution may be made to Mtelo Ministries, P.O. Box 87114, Canton MI 48187 to benefit the Rev. Cleo and Marjorie Mann Endowment Fund to further benefit Bangui Evangelical School of Theology in Central African Republic.
